Frida and Hero
You hear a radio from the distance, Not far from you, a transmission can be heard
"The sun is so far away..." that it's rays are parallel when they reach the Earth... said the girl, with a noticeable broken voice, as if she were about to start crying.
Frida felt overwhelmed and dizzy. She didn't know what to think, what to say, or how to feel. Not much time had passed since her last battle with her family. They had managed to defeat those wretches who had caused them so much pain, but after winning the war, only one question remained for her... now what? What other reason is there to live?
"Why else could I go on?...", the girl said, while her sobs grew louder and louder; inevitably, someone heard her.
Her roomate Hero "Hey, are you okay?" he said in a soft, calm tone. He was never good at comforting people; it was simply something he was never good at, but he would try to make his friend feel better "I heard your cries and if I'm honest, I started to worry and I just wanted to make sure if..."
"Im afraid" the girl said as she interrupted him "Im afraid i dont know i can keep going like this..." "Like what?" "If i can keep waking up every other day of my life without knowing if anything i did before all of this was worthy." "I dont know what to do!"
Hero could only see the uncertainty and worry in Frida's eyes, a type of thinking so strong that it would be difficult to change, but he would try. He couldn't bear to see his friend in that state. He would try to help her, even though he didn't quite know what to say or feel about her.
And With a decision in his heart, he decided to speak "The kind of problems we will face in the future are uncertain, our lives are not predetermined, and it is difficult to know if the suffering we go through will be temporary or eternal. There is no way to know this... but what we can do is stay together, Frida"
As he said this, he gently and sweetly took the girl's hand. She didn't know what to say, she just stood there stunned as she looked into his eyes and listened to him.
"I don't know what we have to live for either, believe me, I think about it too, but I don't want to let those thoughts stay with me. Life isn't written by anyone but ourselves, and I can assure you that even though we sometimes lose our way, we must never forget why we get through each day of our lives, for ourselves, for our dreams and hopes. And I promise you it's worth fighting to achieve them. You don't have to do this alone, I'll always be here for you, and I know what you might need"
Frida looked at him with teary eyes and red cheeks on her face, gave a small smile and simply said
"I love you"
"I love you too"
Charlotte and Bostco
Near Frida and Hero, you can hear with considerable emotion the cheerful and charismatic voice of a woman who, with a photo album in her hands, recounts with emotion and nostalgia the story of her life and her family. The Sheriff, without a doubt, despite her fearsome aim and astonishing skill with firearms, had a maternal side that was well-known to her colleagues.
Meanwhile, Bostco, that former soldier who once commanded fear and respect among his former comrades, listens attentively and with total concentration to the stories that this woman tells him, despite being an absolute brute on the battlefield, cracking skulls as if they were rubber, he had a kind and gentle side that the sheriff was witnessing firsthand.
"Oh oh, This was from a time when we saw a huge tree! I know it sounds ridiculous and maybe not that amazing, but it was nice to see something different once in a while. I remember how Polina ran and climbed around it, so full of joy that even I had trouble keeping up with her, and I won't lie, it was really tiring for me! But it was worth it to see my daughter so happy"
Bostco could sense the extreme happiness emanating from her, until one moment he saw Charlotte stare blankly, her smile fading into a face of utter worry.
She couldn't shake the thought that her daughter was still out there, who knew in what condition, and on top of that, with the uncertainty of not knowing if she was still alive or not.
But he quickly turned to look at Bostco and told him "And tell me Darlin, how is your family?"
Bostco felt overwhelmed by the question, but still decided to answer "I lived with my father in a cabin not far from the city; the air and the breeze from outside felt so welcoming every morning"
"Thats nice to hear" said the Sheriff but at the same time she commented "I noticed you didn't mention your mother. I don't mean to pry or anything, but did something happen to her?"
Bosco, in a subdued tone, simply said, "I lost my mother to a very aggressive skin cancer. That day was extremely painful, and I can remember and feel it as if it were yesterday, but I couldn't stay sad forever. I know she would have liked to see me continue with my life, although she would have preferred that she was still a part of it"
"I'm sorry to hear that, but know that I'm sure your mother would be proud of the kind of man you've become. You're a good man, Bosco, and that's something I'll always admire"
Bostco couldn't help but smile behind that mask, because that sounded exactly like his mother would say it "Thanks Charlotte"
"Anytime Darlin"
Norman and Turbo
Mechanical noises can be heard, as the Redhead Android is undergoing maintenance. Turbo simply waits patiently for the careful and attentive Dr. Norman to finish repairing her damaged hand, "How long will it take, Doctor?"
"Not long. You must learn to be a little more patient, a lack of it can lead to more problems than you can imagine." The android simply resigned herself.
It wasn't long before an idea came to that cold, metallic head, a phrase she'd heard elsewhere, yet despite her intelligence, she couldn't respond. Doubting, she looked at the Doctor and asked him "What's my purpose?"
Norman, clearly surprised and a little nervous about the question, answers "It's what you decide to be"
"Me?"
"Is there an issue with that?"
"I-i dont know what i am supposed to answer now"
Norman noticed the Android's hesitation but simply took her hand and said "Your purpose is what you want for yourself, what you want to achieve through your dreams or hopes, it is your reason for fighting"
"I wish i was like you, maybe that way i could feel like you"
"You don't have to feel what I feel, what matters is what you decide to feel for yourself and for others," the Doctor said as he pointed to the girl's heart "You don't need to be flesh and blood to be human. I've seen you laugh, cry, scream, be afraid or angry, but I've also seen you love. You love life and everything that has to do with it. I can see that you defend it because you find beauty in it, and that's the most human thing you can do, That is your greatest strength, "You're not just pieces of metal put together, you're as human as any of us And that is your greatest strength,
The android with rosy cheeks couldn't look the doctor in the eye, for she saw that after so many years someone saw her as more than just a mechanical weapon. Determined after hearing those words, she said, "I promise you that I will protect this planet and its people no matter what, but above all, you...my family."
Norman smiled and mischievously said, "See? That's the spirit!"
